I made it.

For my last post I’m going to list all of the Museums we went to and all of my favorite things about each one!

  1. Brooklyn Historical Society — Their beautiful library.
  2. DUMBO Brooklyn Historical Society — The map that light up when you pulled out drawers.
  3. Museum of Modern Art — Obviously Starry Night!
  4. The Guggenheim — Ted Kaczynski’s typewriter, and the overall architecture of the Gugg is AMAZING.. I think it might actually be my favorite museum.
  5. Brooklyn Museum — The Egyptian text that was covered and you could lift the cover to view it.
  6. The Schomburg Center — There was a section within the Black Panther movement exhibition that went into detail about the significance of the beret for social movements.
  7. The Studio Museum — Hearing about their future remodel.
  8. Museum of Art and Design — Learning about the Green Book, it was so powerful.
  9. The Newark Museum — Their gut skin parka! It was perfection.
  10. Tenement Museum — Ramanita Saez’s powerful story of being a single mother — and keeping track of her boys after school by checking the pot of beans on the stove!

The Neue Gallerie — We went and saw the Woman in Gold… and Renick snuck us a photo. I watched the movie after we saw it and it made the experience all the more special.

Central Park Zoo — Seeing their awesome penguin habitat, and their chick breeding program.

11. National Museum of the American Indian — I loved the modern Transformer exhibition. It’s kind of a play on many Native creation stories, Transformer or The Creator is the one who created the animal people, the plant people, and the human people.. So I thoroughly enjoyed how they brought on a lot of modern bits of Native art into an old and deeply spiritual story.

12. New York historical Society — I’ve always thought Tiffany lamps were out dated, but that exhibition was so beautiful, I walked away with a new appreciation for them!

13. American Museum of Natural History — Gosh.. I loved the dinosaurs but I think the GIANT Irish elk was my favorite or maybe the Megalonyx (giant ground sloth).

14. The Metropolitan Museum — The Blue Egyptian hippo and all of the Egyptian artifacts, so AMAZING!!

And now for some well deserved photos of my adorable cats!
