This article is part of a series spotlighting local partners providing valuable services in their communities, powered partly by Jia’s financing.

Partnership Spotlight: Sarisuki

Chef Bryan is the owner of Chef Bryan Grill, a local institution serving Filipino and Mexican meals in Marikina City, Philippines. Among his most popular items are spicy cheesy nachos and pork belly sinigang. Even though he has been cooking since the age of three, Chef Bryan continues to experiment and delight customers with classic dishes with surprising twists.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chef Bryan struggled to keep his full-service restaurant afloat. He decided to onboard with foodpanda, a popular online food and grocery delivery platform in the Philippines and current Jia partner. In collaboration with foodpanda’s umbrella program “Negosyo Like a Panda,” Jia and other financing partners provide merchants with additional capital to grow their business.

“Our partnership with Jia is one of the many significant steps we’re taking to help our partners with their finances, giving them the tools and advice they need to expand their business,” said Leopoldo De Castro, Jr., foodpanda Philippines’ Director of Finance.

Jia offers business owners starting loans of ₱30,000, which can be used to increase inventory to match demand, buy new equipment, or invest in expansion efforts. Loan processing is also simple, with a turnaround time of 24–48 hours, sent directly to the preferred e-wallet or account.

Through this Jia’s collaboration with foodpanda, Chef Bryan received the capital needed to cater larger gigs–now able to accommodate both birthdays and weddings!

“For fellow partner vendors who wish to increase their capital, Jia and foodpanda are there to provide an opportunity to increase our investment. The processing of the loan was very fast because after I completed the forms, it was immediately credited to my bank,” said Chef Bryan.
