Waste no time of yours. Just in case you missed out the past week big news on Apple, Apple has just announced its next gen iPhone: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the “future” iPhone X (read as iPhone Ten). Here’s the summary within 1-minute reading.
Here is recap on what’s happening on Apple 12th September 2017 event, mainly on the new iPhone and iOS 11:
Say hello to the future. iPhone X is born!
This year iPhone, comes with 3 models
iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.
While for iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, design-wise, they are practically similar to iPhone 7 and 7 Plus but with glass back, there is this iPhone X which is totally different — the first iPhone without the iconic Home button.
Also this year, Apple sets a record by selling 8 models of iPhone — the most within a year. Apple sells not only the new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, but also still selling iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
iPhone 8 and iPhone X only has 64GB and 256GB storage configurations
Apple has upped the storage for iPhone 8 and iPhone X, starting now with 64GB, then 256GB. There is no 32GB nor 128GB for iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
iPhone 8 and iPhone X has only 2 colors: Silver and Space Gray
Unlike last year iPhone 7 which I nominated as the most colorful iPhone, this year iPhone 8 and iPhone X only comes with 2 colors: Space Grey and Silver.

iPhone 8 and iPhone X has wireless charging technology. Yay!
If all this time you are envy with Android users who can charge their phones wirelessly, now envy no more! Apple has made both iPhone 8 and iPhone X to be wireless charging capable. The best thing is that, you can use any existing Qi wireless charging pad/mat. In other words, Apple does not restrict the wireless charging technology on its iPhone to use Apple own standard.
iPhone X is now with OLED screen
The first iPhone to use OLED screen. It has contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. Compare to iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, they only has 1400:1 contrast ratio.
iPhone X has new authentication method: Face ID
Unlike its predecessor, iPhone X is all about screen. Apple has removed the Home button, so there goes Touch ID as well. But no to worry, Apple has introduced a new authentication method for your to unlock your phone, made a secure Apple Pay payment: using your face. Apple called it Face ID. Apple claims that Face ID will still work in dark areas as well. We’ll see how it goes.
