How to Use a CNC Plasma Table

Definition

CNC plasma table is a device that uses high-temperature plasma arc to generate heat to melt the whole or part of the metal part at the cut of the processed workpiece, and uses the momentum of high-speed plasma to remove the molten metal for cutting. It has the characteristics of convenient operation and high cutting accuracy. CNC plasma table can be perfectly applied to the cutting of non-ferrous metals, and the cutting surface is smooth and the deformation is small, so it is widely used in the cutting engineering of automobiles, locomotives, chemical machinery, nuclear industry, general machinery, engineering machinery, steel structure and other industries Above.

Working Principle

The working principle of CNC plasma cutter is to heat the gas to a very high temperature and perform high ionization to form plasma, and then transfer these plasma to the workpiece. The high heat can quickly melt the workpiece and cut the workpiece. In recent years, with the deepening of the degree of mechanization, the manufacturing process of CNC plasma tables has also been continuously improved.

Modern plasma tables are generally controlled by a numerical control system, which has a high numerical control configuration, can realize automatic arc starting, and the success rate of arc starting reaches more than 99%. And the system supports various design software, and can also use U disk to exchange processing files, the operation is very convenient. In addition, the frame of the CNC plasma table generally adopts a fully welded structure. This structure is relatively durable, which makes its cutting speed fast, high precision and small cutting mouth without slag, effectively avoiding secondary processing.

Operation

With the development of industrialization, CNC plasma cutters are more and more widely used in industrial manufacturing. Today we will introduce how to use the CNC plasma table?

1. Before the CNC plasma cutting machine is powered on, it is necessary to check whether all switches on the equipment are in the off position, and whether the rotary switch on the rear of the equipment is in the horizontal position.

2. Turn on the power of the main switch cabinet before starting to make the two cables live.

3. Move the circuit breaker in the electrical cabinet of the CNC plasma cutter to the ON position.

4. Use the key switch to turn on the system control power, and the main interface should appear on the display.

5. Turn the rotary switch at the rear of the plasma power supply to 90° to the vertical position, and the power indicator of the device lights.

6. Turn on the air compressor (the compressor flow rate is 1m3/min), adjust the pressure control switch of the air compressor, so that the compressor output pressure is 6.1–8.2Bar.

Precautions

1. Cutting should start from the edge; cut from the edge as much as possible, not perforation cutting. Using the edge as the starting point will extend the life of the consumable. The correct method is to directly point the nozzle at the edge of the workpiece and then start the plasma arc.

2. Reduce unnecessary “arc starting (or arc guiding)” time; the nozzle and electrode consumption are very fast when starting the arc. Before starting, the cutting torch should be placed within the walking distance of the cutting metal.

3. Do not overload the nozzle; overloading the nozzle (that is, exceeding the working current of the nozzle) will quickly damage the nozzle. The current intensity should be 95% of the operating current of the nozzle. For example: 100A nozzle current intensity should be set to 95A.

4. A reasonable cutting distance is adopted; according to the requirements of the instruction manual, a reasonable cutting distance is adopted. The cutting distance is the distance between the cutting nozzle and the surface of the workpiece. When perforating, try to use twice the normal cutting distance or use the plasma arc The maximum height passed.

5. The thickness of the perforation should be within the allowable range of the machine system; the cutting machine cannot perforate the steel plate that exceeds the working thickness. The usual perforation thickness is 1/2 of the normal cutting thickness.

6. Keep the cutting torch and consumable parts of the CNC plasma cutting machine as clean as possible: any dirt on the torch and consumable parts will greatly affect the function of the plasma system. When replacing consumable parts, they should be placed on a clean flannel, the connection ribs of the torch should be checked frequently, and the electrode contact surface and nozzle should be cleaned with a hydrogen peroxide-based cleaning agent.

7. Minimize perforation and cutting. Perforation is the molten steel back-splashing that can damage the nozzle. This is one of the most important reasons for the damage to the cutting nozzle. Start cutting at the pre-drilled hole.

8. Try to cut within the normal cutting thickness range of the cutting machine, and try not to cut at the limit cutting thickness. The normal cutting thickness of the domestic cutting machine is generally 60% of the maximum cutting thickness marked by the manufacturer (for example, the domestic 100A CNC plasma table) The maximum cutting thickness marked by the manufacturer is generally 32mm, but the normal normal cutting thickness is only 15–20mm), try to cut within this thickness range, you can best protect the cutting nozzle.

9. The distance between the cutting nozzle and the steel plate should be kept as constant as possible, generally about 3–8mm, if it is too far, not only the power consumption is too large, the cutting penetration ability will be reduced, but the electrode is relatively consumed, which reduces the service life of the electrode; too It is simpler and more expensive to get closer to the nozzle. The service life of the nozzle will be doubled and even burned up.
