#JLPDevs Meet Up: Learn Django Framework and Talk about Dichotomy

Last Saturday (19/3), Jakarta Learns Programming (JLP) held another meet up at PT Microsoft, BEJ, Jakarta. This is the fourth time #JLPDevs held an event and as usual, it can be attended by anyone. This #JLPDevs meet up which took place at 13.00–16.00, attended by around 30 people from different background. #JLPDevs’ topics were “Learn Django Framework and Talk about Dichotomy.”

“These topics were chosen because our two speakers have those background and they’re willing to share with people who has the same interest at JLP,” said Sigit Prayoga, organizer Jakarta Learns Programming.

Ikhsan Noor Rosyidin

Learn Django Framework presented by Ikhsan Noor Rosyidin, DevOps Lewatmana.com. “Today I wanna share about Django Framework and hope a lot of you will move to Django,” he said at the beginning of the session, followed by laughter from the audience. He explained about what Django is, how to start learning it, and how Django Framework is now widely used by big websites such as Instagram, Pinterest, Mozilla, NASA, Detik.com, and even more.

Nur Agus Suryoko

While the other topic, Talk about Dichotomy was presented by Nur Agus Suryoko, Infrastructure Architect of Virkea. This sharing session was talking the dichotomy of Windows/Microsoft products vs open-source especially Linux. The sharing session went full of jokes. “We used to have a word like ‘you must be using Windows if your computer went down’,” he joked.
