My Opinion on Huxley Story

I have so many concerns about Huxley’s life because that is not how a child should be treated. It is good of the family that once they found out what he had that they tried to get the help that he deserved but ultimately was too much with how big their family is. As a little kid, there really is not anything you can do about privacy and consent but once you get older you can. When I first glanced at this reading I did think that Huxley was not living the best life that he could. He deserved to get the help that he needed along with the proper care from the people he is surrounded by. When I looked over the article it seemed like the child was just a prop or a convenient tool to increase the popularity of the Stauffer’s. I have to say as a person who is adopted I think there is a better word choice that could have been used to describe the video. I have only heard Gotcha day a couple of times and it is not used a lot. Adoption can sometimes be sensitive to the people that are doing it. As a person who is adopted, adoption is really private, and takes a lot for that person to tell others. Also, there are two types of adoption open and closed. Most adoptions are private and you need consent for a lot of things. There are some people who do say gotcha day but I do not see it as a common. I do have to say that it is good of the family to see that it was not correct for them and for them to give it to a family that would treat him better and be in a better way with help wise.
