Rise of Twitch: Blog Post #2

Twitch is a social media platform originally intended for “gamers” to share their games on screen with followers. It started in 2011 and was originally coined Justin.TV. It was then bought by Amazon in 2014. While Twitch has been around for 9 years, it is just now entering the main stream. Twitch now is not only for gamers but also artists and casual viewers. Some professors around the country are even using Twitch for their Zoom university classes. Twitch would be an excellent medium to story tell because of the personal feeling of being face to face with someone playing video games.
