Pit bulls are seen by many as aggressive and dangerous dogs and because of this, there are bans in cities across the country and countless restrictions. Gamora was one of the sweetest and most loving dogs you would ever meet. All she wanted to do was love and play but due to her being a pit bull she faced obstacles when just trying to live her life. Her owner moved to Florida and during their time there Gamora was involved in an incident due to her breed and was attacked. She was stripped of her life just because of the stigma surrounding pit bulls. Anyone who met her knew from the start that she did not have an aggressive violent bone in her body.

Pitt Bull bans are discriminating against these amazing companions because they have been known to be trained to be violent and aggressive. This is due to their strength and build. Pitt bulls are very strong dogs and have very prominent muscles, producing what some people see as a scary dog.

I plan to use Facebook because a lot of humane societies and adoption programs are active on Facebook. Local and state governments are also more active on Facebook, which would be crucial to fighting the bans.

Pushing the correct image of what pit bulls truly show would require talking to a number of specialists and humane societies so that the story could gain enough merit to overturn some of the bans and restrictions in place.

I plan on talking to the Weld County Humane Society, Larmier Humane Society, and the Longmont Human Society to gather a picture by professionals of the breed to share.

Professor Staton mentioned his contacts and I will also plan on talking to them and interview them about the specific reasons pit bulls are seen the way they are and why it happened.

Through positivity, I believe that we can share stories and teach people that pit bulls are the sweetest angels on the planet. These dogs deserve the same love and respect that any other living thing on this planet does. They are truly man’s best friend and will improve any situation.
