The story of Huxley is appalling at the least.

I was outraged at how a family could adopt a child for clickbait and rehome him once they face the reality of being parents to a child with special needs. The Stauffer’s claimed that they would adopt a child with special needs and Myka Stauffer said, “my child is not returnable.” This claim was soon proven false. I believe that Huxley was adopted solely for the purpose of gaining a following. The Stauffer’s were not getting as much of a following before they adopted and struggled to produce content people wanted to watch. Once the Stauffer’s began vlogging about the adoption process and filming every second of the process their following began to grow and Myka was even getting sponsorships from major companies.

This story is especially personal to me because a friend of mine has one of the most heartbreaking adoption stories and tried to adopt for many years. I have known many people that have been in the adoption process for so long and the struggle to adopt is a big issue. It frustrates me that Huxley was placed with a family that appeared to have a perfect life but in reality, there were many problems. I personally think the investigation was well warranted. The fact that Myka duck taped Huxley’s hand to stop him from sucking his thumb is mind-blowing. I mother with other children and is in many mom-groups should know that is not okay. It was apparent that the Stauffers never had time or patience for Huxley.

Overall, it is probably best for Huxley to be in a different home. A child should not be seen as a burden and Huxley deserves a family that will give him 100%.
