Weekly Post Twelve

I have mixed feelings about this topic overall. One side of me believes government interference with apps and other forms of media should only be exercised in cases of data harvesting. Though before removing the source there should be solid evidence proving that the data collected goes further than using it to show ads for certain audiences. If a legitimate threat is shown, then the government has the right and authority to protect the security of a country and the people of that country.

The other part of my believes that the government does not have the right to take away these sources. If a person understands the risk of their information being spread, then they should have the right to continue using the platform. When it comes to TikTok specifically I am a bit biased. I use the app frequently and enjoy the content that is produced on the app. I also have yet to see proof of an immediate threat to society because of the app. If we removed every source that is data collecting we would not have access to hardly anything in the range of technology. Overall, this topic is difficult for me because there are so many counter-arguments against both sides.
