Create a retro effect of photos in Photoshop

Many of the youngsters create a retro/vintage effect of their photos using Retrica app and post on Instagram . So here today, I am explaining how to create a retro effect of photo in Photoshop.

Requirements
Download the wood texture backgrounds from GraphicBurger
Old Paper Texture link

Steps

1. Firstly open the texture and your photo, then drag and drop the texture image onto your photo.
Press CTRL+T to slect the layer and adjust the texture image to fit over your photo.

2. Now change the blending mode to “Color Burn” and decrease the opacity around 40–50%

3. Next, create a new layer and using the rectangular marque tool select the entire region and right click and say stroke. Set color to white and size around 15–20px.

4. Then merge all the three layers i.e: photo background, texture layer and the frame layer(stroke)

5. Now, open the wood texture and click CTRL+U to open(Hue/Stauration). Set the vales as below

6. Drag and drop the photo image on the wood texture image. CTRL+T the new layer and adjust the size accordingly.

7. Then select the blending options for that layer and Choose “Drop Shadow” and set the values as below

8. Next right the layer and create a smart object and then just duplicate the layer.

9. Select each layer and using CTRL+T to transform the size and angle according. Repeat the prcoess for as many as duplicates of your layer from step 8.
