You shouldn’t be ashamed of making money.

You shouldn’t be ashamed of making money. This world runs on money and more you have in your pocket more you can live an affordable life and get whatever you want.

But does money is everything?

Should we always judge the quality of the employer based on money?

Does more money mean more satisfaction in the workplace?

It depends on your priorities. What are your goals? if you are thinking of buying a house, yeah definitely go for the money but it’s not always that high paying jobs are the best. I’ll try to explain why is that throughout this article.

We relate money with job satisfaction

Money can’t give you job satisfaction. Period. This is the most common misconception. A job with more money can’t guarantee you a better workplace, experienced mentors and a good boss.

Money can’t give you job satisfaction. Period.

Job satisfaction in itself is very important. If you go out every day hating your work and people around you believe me no matter the price you will leave that job soon. Your work is going to fill a lot of your life it’s better to work in a healthy environment with average money compare to a bad workplace with whatever the money comes tied to it.

It’s always good to pick a place where you can get more diverse and positive experience rather than more money. My checklist for a good workplace is

  1. Positive and energetic mentors
  2. I shouldn’t be the smartest among my colleagues
  3. A positive environment with a focus on innovation
  4. An Environment made up of trust and transparency

Trust and credibility is always better than talent

No matter how much talented you are jumping between jobs just for money will make it harder for any employer to hire you. Trust and credibility are becoming more and more important for organizations nowadays.

You should get paid your worth.

When an organization hires you the most important thing most of them look for is long term relationship. If you are just in for the money there is no chance a good organization will trust you and its very hard working with people you don’t trust.

There will always be employers who will give you more money then you are getting currently if you are talented enough there is no question.

But a good employee is someone who put his organization above everything, that’s how we build trust and credibility and that’s how we get satisfaction in our jobs by trusting our team.

With trust and credibility, we ensure people are watching our back. There are people who will help you in a bad situation and help you in doing your best work.

Conclusion

Find a job which you truly love and stick to it. Build trust and credibility. Hang around people with more diverse experiences and build things together.

In the end, it depends on your priority what do you exactly want is it money or job satisfaction make a decision, go out there and get it.
