A Job Portal which is FREE to post jobs and resumes for 60 days indefinitely

A job makes someone and a family earn livelihood. But not all the companies (big to small) post job opening ads online. Circumstantially and reluctantly they have to hire through other informal and ineffective channels as posting an attractive job opening ad on top online job boards is very expensive. Indeed, it is expensive! A job ad costs from $49 to $1999+ on different job boards.

Job Ad rates of Top Jobs Boards

Posting a job opening online is NOT rocket science BUT then why is it so expensive??? $299+ for posting a job opening for 30 days, are you kidding me?!!!

For $299 you can sponsor education or food of an un-priviledged child for almost 12 months.

Recruitment is a major problem for all businesses as finding and retaining the right talent is a top concern.

Even if your compensation and benefits are on par, if not better, than your competitors, but still you just can’t seem to find the right people. Thus, you need to keep on posting job openings constantly and keep on seeking the right talent. It is a continous process.

Job Ad Advertising is expensive? Oh yeah damn it is!

Examples of pricing structure for posting job opening ads on few famous job boards:

In US, to post an ad on CareerBuilder costs $419. If you post 5 jobs per month, you can get it down to $350/job. At Monster, a single job ad is $395. If you post 5 jobs per month, you can get that down to $320/job. With costs like these — that often deliver mediocre results — you may want to consider another approach to finding candidates.

Advertising a job — especially on major job boards — is expensive. On Seek, Australia’s leading job posting board costs $275 +GST at a minimum for only 30 days. If you add in any of their special features, the costs add up to over $1000.

That is for one job board, and only for 30 days. On CareerOne, it’s a bit cheaper at $187 to start for 30 days, but you get fewer applicants and once you start adding additional features, it adds up even more.

In India, Naukri.com charges a good enough price as per Indian standards. Rs 1650/- for a job post for 30 days.

Most websites charge similar fees, and most businesses advertise on multiple websites. Already, we’re at over $1000, and this doesn’t include if you advertise with:

  • Google Adwords
  • Newspaper Ads
  • Magazine Ads

The more places you advertise, the more expensive it becomes.

But the costs do not end there either. In order to advertise a job successfully, you have to monitor applicants, screen applicants, use tools to make sure you’re getting the right applicants, and dedicate staff to all of these advertisement solutions. Before you have called your first applicant in for an interview, the costs in both expenses and lost production are often well over $5,000 per job opening.

Niche Job Boards? Oh, they are also expensive!!!

Some of the niche job boards like dice etc. are as expensive as careerbuilder, monster etc. Take a look at photos below :-

Job Advertising Boards having free options, as in beer?

Free job posting sites allow employers to post jobs free and still reach a large audience effectively. They can bring you great candidate traffic. There are a few claiming to be FREE …

The list of free websites to post jobs is much smaller than the number of paid job boards simply due to the fact that it is hard to grow a job board if you offer mostly free job postings for employers. Still, Indeed was able to build a billion-dollar business on the back of free job advertising, to some extent, so don’t discount the value and power of a free job listing.

Glassdoor gives 10 job openings FREE for 7 days, what the! Ask glassdoor, how effective can a job ad be if it is displayed for only 7 days amidst the sponsored (paid) job ads on its website???

Well, there are exceptions such as indeed.com which provides FREE job openings for 30 days but these free job openings, on indeed.com, don’t get enough impressions (displays), alike glassdoor, as the sponsored (paid) job ads are preferred more.

Social Networking Sites? Oh, they can become expensive too!!!

Many companies also turn to social networking sites when looking for new employees. LinkedIn is one of the most popular social networking sites employers and recruiters love to use. With LinkedIn, employers can build a network of professionals who they can turn to for references and recommendations. They can also search for candidates based on their current and past employers BUT IT CAN BECOME VERY EXPENSIVE!

Linkedin and Facebook charges for each job AD (boosting a post for people outside of your network to see) on CPC and CPI basis so in real sense they are NOT FREE!!!

Employers also consider Facebook when recruiting. Publshing a job ad (or rather called post) on this platform is free but if not advertised then this post can be seen only by people inside your direct network. It’s not uncommon for an employer to check up on an individual’s social profiles before hiring, and many applicants have been turned down because of crude language, inappropriate pictures, and displays of partying, drinking or using drugs.

SO YOU ASK!!!

Is there any reliable source which is effective and cost-effective, and is easy to use? Phew!!!
