Before we start — COVID-19 is unfortunately still around, so no matter where you are stay safe!

It is Atlassian Team Tour! 👍

Teamwork is changing faster than anyone anticipated. Teams that are able to adapt, stay agile, and collaborate openly not only will survive, but thrive in the long run.

Team Tour will explore the latest trends around remote work, ITSM, enterprise agility, and how to stay resilient in times of change. And be the first to see how we’re building cloud products for modern teamwork.

After this years Atlassian Summit this event is the second Remote Event take place in the year 2020. And there is a lot to take away from it…

Highlights

Native Desktop and Mobile Apps

No matter where you are and no matter which platform you use, Atlassian made it easier for you to choose by building native desktop and mobile apps. With an new editor, custom notifications and even dark mode available the apps has become more user friendly!

Working on windows machines is the best imho, in this case not so much 😕. Looking forward to windows app dear product manager and developers 😛

Instead I’m using the mobile apps quite heavily which have improved a lot!

Collaboration

Work with anyone — from inside or outside you organisation with privacy options for external collaboration! Coming soon to your Cloud instance it has never been easier to share information with the outside world of your organisation.

Something our customers and we have been hoping for for quite a while and I’m super stoked that this feature will be released. Imagine working with external developers or marketing teams and you needing to quickly share information with them, this is now possible!

Smarts

Atlassian heavily worked on bringing you more predictive information. Whether its autocomplete for labels & components or issue assignment — with machine learning algorithms the Cloud platform tries to give you the right information when you need it.

Furthermore you can now search across applications which is super great, cause you don’t need to switch applications. Would be great to see more apps implemented into the search.

Automation

Automation is seemlessly integrated into each project. Giving your team the ability to control what is happing in your project. While administrators can focus on building the organisational framework, you can add automations based on events in your project without consulting the administrators and therefore save time!

Atlassian Forge

The next evolution of building cloud apps has arrived. Forge empowers all developers to focus on building new functionalities within the Cloud products without taking care of running, hosting, securing and scaling the apps.

Really looking forward to the Developer Day Session to see what happend here. Was fortunate enough to play with Forge on Atlassian Open in Vienna but didn’t had much time since then.

ITSM Improvements

Jira Service Desk is now Jira Service Management. Opsgenie is now integrated into all Cloud. Furthermore Mindville Insight and Halp will be included soon aswell!

This is an absolutely huge annoucement and strengthens the market position of Atlassian in the ITSM market.

Jira Service Managements will also adds richer contextual information to your issues, by displaying which services are impacted, which incidents are linked and even lets you analyse potential root causes all in one view.

When using Bitbucket it gives you the full visibility of the deployment history of the service linked to the issue

Furthermore Bitbucket pipelines and Jira Service Management are even more closely integrated with each other. Changes in your code can be approved via Jira Service Management and therefore gives you the ultimate traceability of changes within your products and services.

The changes to Jira Service Management and the connection to Bitbucket are massive! I work in a DevOps team and environment since some time now and this was something I dreamed of!

All summed up, I’m really looking forward whats happening in the Cloud with the new additions for ITSM teams like Insight and Halp.
