President Trump announced via Twitter on October 1st, that he and the First Lady have tested positive for Covid-19. The tweet stated “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

This news breaks after top Trump advisor, Hope Hicks, tested positive for Covid-19 on October 1st after being in close contact with the President as well as many Trump administration officials. Hicks was seen traveling with President Trump on Air Force One to and from the first presidential debate and was spotted in contact with Stephen Miller, Dan Scavino, and Jared Kushner while walking towards Marine One, President Trump’s helicopter.

The Office of First Lady Melania Trump announced the breaking news via Twitter. “As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together”.

Dr. Sean Conley issued a memo to reporters at approximately 1 a.m. ET stating “The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence. The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions,”. The memo also addressed how the President will fulfill his role, explaining that, “Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any further developments,” Dr. Conley wrote.

The recent news of the health of the First Family has shocked the Nation and left the future of the presidential debates, campaigns, election, and of the Country in uncertainty.
