5 (or 6) Movies I Need A Babysitter For In 2015

With an average 2014 at the theaters behind us, we look ahead to a year loaded with blockbusters and the return of some big screen favorites including Liam Neeson killing bad guys, our favorite team of super heroes, a visit to a special theme park, terminators, 007, and some top-secret J.J. Abrams sci-fi movie ☺.

Taken 3

January 9, 2015
Liam Neeson returns with his special set of skills to avenge the death of his wife and save his daughter. My bet. He will find them, and he will kill them. And I will be there to see it. IMAX? Probably not.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

May 1, 2015
The Avengers assemble to kick off the summer and defend Earth against a new enemy. Age of Ultron may contend with its predecessor’s box-office figures, but can the sequel’s story match one of the greatest super hero movies ever made? IMAX? In 3D for sure.

Jurassic World

June 12, 2015
The park is open. Twenty-three years after the original Jurassic Park, we get to visit a fully operational realization of John Hammond’s dream. I can’t wait to take my boys to see these dinosaurs on the big screen, so we may only need a sitter for our nine month old (by then) baby girl.
IMAX? Definitely 3D.

Terminator Genisys

July 1, 2015
Arnold’s back to reprise his Academy Award winning role as the Terminator. In Terminator Genisys (which is really funny since Genesis is playing on my iPod right now), his mission is to save Daenerys Targaryen, and the guy who played Spartacus’ best friend. Sounds like fun! IMAX 3D? Affirmative.

Spectre

November 6, 2015
The James Bond reboot continues with Daniel Craig steping in to play 007 for a fourth time. Spectre picks up after 2012's Skyfall, the most successful film in the franchise’s history, so the pressure is on for a strong follow-up. Skyfall excelled at paying homage to the earlier Bond films, and it looks like Spectre will honor the past with a reincarnation of Bond’s arch-rival terrorist group. IMAX 3D? Does James Bond take his vodka martinis shaken?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

December 15, 2015
If I could reserve my tickets for a midnight IMAX 3D premier, I would have done so already. Words cannot express the level of my excitement for the return of science fiction’s greatest franchise. Sorry Hobbit fans, but it’s not even close. Enjoy the trailer a few hundred times. May the force be with J.J. Abrams on this one like it was with the Star Trek reboot.

Bonus Material:

Check out Stephen Colbert’s take on the new lightsaber. Just brilliant!
