LIFE STORY

JOHN LENNON (9th OCTOBER,1940——8th DECEMBER,1980). HE WAS AN BRITISH MUSICIAN, THE MEMBER ALSO THE SOUL OF THE ROCK BAND THE BEATLES. JOHN AND ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE BEATLES PAUL MCCARTNEY ARE “THE BEST SONGWRITING PARTNER”.

HE HAD HIS FIRST BAND THE QUARRYMEN WHEN HE WAS STILL A TEENAGER. JOHN HAD MET PAUL MCCARTNEY IN THE CHURCH AT THE AGE OF 17, THE FOLLOWING YEAR, PAUL INTRODUCED GEROGE HARRISON TO JOHN, SOON, A MAN FROM ART COLLEGE WHO CALLED STUART SUTCLIFFE AND PETE BEST ALSO JOIN THEIR BAND, BUT HE HAD LEFT THE BAND TO CONTINUE HIS CAREER OF ART IN LIVERPOOL COLLEGE OF ART. AFTER STUART LEFT, JOHN MADE A NEW NAME “THE BEATLES” FOR HIS BAND. IT’S EVOLVED INTO THE BEATLES IN 1960. AFTER THEY DISBANDED, JOHN STARTED HIS SOLO MUSIC LIFE. HE MADE HIS SOLO ALBUMS, JOHN LENNON/PLASTIC ONO BAND WAS RELEASED ON 11 DECEMBER 1970, AND IMAGINE WAS RELEASED ON 9 SEPTEMBER 1971.

JOHN LENNON WAS MARRIED WITH YOKO ONO ON 1969, ANDHE DECIDED TO QUIT FROM MUSIC CIRCLE TO RAISE HIS SON SEAN LENNON ON 1975. BUT HE MADE A COMBACK WITH ONO ON 1980. BUT SAD THING HAPPENED 3 WEEKS AFTER HIS “COMING BACK” ALBUM DOUBLE FANTASY, HE WAS MURDERED(GUNNED) BY MARK DAVID CHAPMAN AT THE ENTRANCE OF JOHN’S APARTMENT. THAT WAS 8 DECEMBER, 1980. “THERE’S NO FUNERAL FOR JOHN, JOHN LOVED AND PRAYS FOR THE HUMAN RACE, PLEASE PRAY THE SAME FOR HIM.” ONO MADE THIS STATEMENT THE NEXT DAY.

JOHN’S QUOTES

“ We’ve got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can’t just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it’s going to get on by itself. You’ve got to keep watering it. You’ve got to really look after it and nurture it.”

“Love is the answer, and you know that for sure; Love is a flower, you’ve got to let it grow.”

“If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there’d be peace.”

“You have to be a bastard to make it, and that’s a fact. And the Beatles are the biggest bastards on earth.”

“If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that’s his problem. Love and peace are eternal.”

MUSIC ON, WORLD OFF

JOHN WAS A VARIETY MUSICIAN. HE PLAYED MANY KINDS OF ELECTRIC GUITARS, ESPECIALLY the Rickenbacker 325, Epiphone Casino and Gibson J-160E. HE ALSO PLAYED BASS AND PIANO.

AND HIS UNIQUE VOCAL STYLE, HIS VOICE IS CLEAR AND CORDIAL. ESPECIALLY WHEN HE WAS SINGING ABOUT LOVE&PEACE OR GOD. FOR EXAMPLE IMAGINE, GIVE PEACE A CHANCE, LET IT BE AND OH MY LOVE. AND JOHN ALWAYS SAY THAT “DO SOMETHING ON MY VOICE” TO THEIR PRODUCER GEORGE MARTIN, AND THEN GEORGE OFTEN DO DOUBLE-TRACKING ON JOHN’S VOCAL, SO THAT LED TO JOHN’S “UNIQUE”.

“When you put your headphone on and play John’s song, you’ll feel that music on, world off.” One of my teacher said.

INFLUENCES

JOHN LENNON WAS INFLUENCED BY ELVIS, CHUCK BERRY, BOB DYLAN AND HIS WIFE YOKO ONO. ACCORDING TO THE SONGS THAT HE’S WRITTEN IN HIS SOLO LIFE, PREVIOUSLY HIS WIFE YOKO ONO EFFECTED HIM THE MOST. YOKO HAD SUPPORT JOHN ON MUSIC SO MUCH. LOVE&PEACE.

This album was released on 1976, this album led a new style of rock. Peoples were going crazy for Beatles. The vocal style in Twist and Shout was really distinctive.

LEGACY

MUSIC HISTORIAN SCHINDER AND SCHWARTZ HAD WRITTEN THAT THE BEATLES’ INLUENCES IS OVERSTATED: having “revolutionised the sound, style, and attitude of popular music and opened rock and roll’s doors to a tidal wave of British rock acts”. AND JOHNN LENNON’S WORDS DOES EFFECTED AMERICAN AND FRANCE REVOLUTION A LOT. JOHN LENNON WAS A HERO OF “LOVE&PEACE”.
