iPads to VR

When I was younger growing up in the early 2000s fun consisted of playing outside or whatever my imagination could come up with. However, as we evolve technology we slowly saw childhood become a completely different story. In today’s society we see children feigning for mobile games or their iPads to watch their favorite show. Our simulation has been completely destroyed by short term and accessible content.

Restaurants are littered with giant iPads on the tables just to hopefully keep the children focused for a period of time. Their faces are glued to the screens and not a single human interaction happens the entire time. This happened out of now where and I am afraid there is no way of stopping it.

But what if I said this wasn't even the worst it could get. What could possibly be worse than the iPad to our future generations. VR has been around for some time now, however, is just now recently beginning to become practical and ready for everyday use.

I think you can see where I am goign with this. Imagine not a world wehre are children’s heads down and eyes glued to a screen, but instead eyes covered and glued to a different world. Who's to say VR wont replace the iPad, eventually everyone will get bored of it and we will have to take the next step, and I believe that is VR.

The main issue here is that I see no way of proventing it and it is only the innevtiable. I’m curious, however, if not VR then what will be next. As time goes on we will just have to wait and see, as it is coming whether we like it or not.
