Over the last three months, Paladin had the privilege of being one of 10 companies in the Techstars Chicago cohort. When we first looked into the program this spring, we were struck by the power of the Techstars network, its founder-focused approach, and seemingly intense programming. Plus, with their #givefirst motto, what could be better aligned with Paladin?

Now, as we arrive at Demo Day and reflect on our last three months, we couldn’t be happier with our decision to join Techstars. It was inspiring, humbling and transformative for Paladin and our team.

On behalf of the Paladin team, I’d like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to our experience. Paladin’s mission of working to close the justice gap has always been an important and personal one to the team, but between DACA and the recent hurricanes, the need for pro bono has never been greater. And while nothing could prepare us for the whirlwind that was Mentor Madness, growth month, and our dash to product launch, we are in an immensely better position to help achieve our mission than ever before.

First, thank you to our incredible team for their hard work, late nights, and split lives between Chicago and New York for the past three months. Phoebe, Matt, and Felicity, I’m inspired by your dedication to help those in need and commitment to building a product much bigger than we are. Your expertise and passion are what make Paladin successful.

Second, thank you to the impressive Techstars team (shoutout to our fearless MD, Logan LaHive!) and our other cohort companies for pushing us to be better leaders, builders, and entrepreneurs each and every day. 4Degrees, Abode, Allie, Immersed, Elemetric, Futury, Harbor, Omelas, Swag.com: we have learned to focus, build a stronger product, and be more confident in our message because of you.

Lastly, thank you to the brilliant mentors, advisors, and investors who have helped guide the way throughout the program, especially our lead mentor Amanda Lannert. Our mentors made us laugh; made us cry (well, really just lock ourselves in a conference room with bottles of wine), and have truly shaped our time in the program. From making generous introductions to answering our late night panic emails to listening to our pitch for the 3824th time, Paladin would not be the same without you.

As it true with pro bono work, to help others, it takes a village. And we are so honored to be a part of this crazy and supportive startup village that is Techstars. Now, upwards and onwards. To justice!

❤ K
