Regardless of your passion for fashion, no business exists without customers. Here are some ways to grow your client-base.

1. Referrals and Word-of-Mouth

When clients love what you do, they tell their friends — but don’t expect it to happen automatically. Consider offering special perks or gifts to clients who help you spread the word.

2. Join Local Organizations

Attend events or meet-ups in your local area that appeal to your target demo. Giving potential clients an opportunity to learn about you and your business in a social atmosphere creates a way to “soft sell.” Close the deal by sending them a link to your site on Arthur.

3. Share Your Story on Instagram

Even if selfies aren’t your thing, Instagram is still a great way to attract clients. Whether you feature an outfit a day (#OOTD) or photos of you styling clients, your grams should remind people how talented you are. Share more looks by linking your Arthur site in your bio, and don’t forget hashtags!

4. Create Content

Keep up with clients and followers even when you’re not working one-on-one. If a blog is too much for you, start by creating a regular newsletter of some of your favorite pieces and relevant styling tips. We love Mailchimp.

5. Grow Your Digital Presence

Take advantage of any free space to post about your services. Some easy examples are Facebook, LinkedIn, Yelp, Thumbtack, and UpWork.
