If there’s anything that 2020 has taught me thus far, it’s that human beings are resilient, we underestimate how much we grow from change, and that community is important for our health.

The combination of these insights, and passion for learning and teaching, has led me to this exciting role as the Head of Emotional Fitness at Coa!

I’m Dr. Vaneeta Sandhu, a clinical psychologist, educator, researcher, and someone still learning how to wash spoons so they don’t spray water back at me (please email any tips to me at vaneeta@joincoa.com). I’ve had incredible opportunities to work with academic and corporate brands like Dropbox, Lyft, Allbirds, among others to build knowledge and skill sets related to emotional fitness. At a time of intense change, it’s more important now than ever for us to be intentional about our mental health and help those around us as well.

To know me means to be up for an experiment, wherever and whenever. So, are you ready for this 30 second experiment? Grab your phone. Wherever you are sitting or standing, I want you to take 15 seconds to review the last 5 people you’ve texted. How are they taking care of their mental health? If I review my recent texts, folks are going for walks, bingeing new television series, and cooking. Okay, there may be glasses of wine somewhere in there, too. The point is this: we’re all looking for different ways to take care of ourselves now that we’ve been asked to urgently and deliberately think about how we’re prioritizing our health.

Being a part of Coa allows me to do just that for you: make prioritizing your emotional fitness even easier through class experiences and curriculum that make mental health fun, relatable, actionable, and an ongoing pursuit. We’re building a new model for mental health & emotional fitness, starting with an interactive class-based curriculum. Think a workout for your mind with classes on Emotionally Fit Leadership, Self-Awareness, Imposter Syndrome, Communication, Resilience, all alongside a supportive community of peers working to grow together.

Consider this a fresh start for your mental health. Stay tuned and I look forward to meeting you soon.
