David Weild, Former Vice Chairman of the NASDAQ and Jointer Advisor, and Jointer CEO Jude Regev will join a panel discussion on a new way to tokenize assets using blockchain. The panel will focus on Technology in Real Estate and Tokenization.

The panel discussion will be held at The Yale Club on Vanderbilt Avenue in New York City, in the heart of midtown. The Yale Club of New York City has more than 11,000 members from all around the world and today’s event focuses on investment.

David and Jude will discuss the old method to tokenizing assets, private tokenization, and the new method, public tokenization. Currently, the industry is tokenizing properties using the private tokenization method which is limited to accredited investors, carrying a locked or untradeable period. Created by Jude, this new method called public tokenization also files under the SEC’s Reg S1 which mirrors a public company allowing tradability to everyone, at any time.

Jointer is the first public tokenization platform that helps property owners access equity by issuing debt tokens to borrow money from the public. Through this process, Jointer provides property owners with a free end-to-end tokenization solution.

“Imagine if two years ago all the ICO projects knew that every offering they made will have an issue with the SEC because they didn’t comply with regulations. Now, what if you could have caught this ahead of time?” Regev asks. “This same issue is occurring right now with STOs using private tokenization. It is the wild west and these STOs are ripe for prosecution from the SEC and scams. It’s only a matter of time before the SEC starts to crack down on the use of private tokenization.”
