The all-American car manufacturer Ford has been making some big moves in the automobile industry. The new push to electric vehicles is creating lots of excitement around the country, and Ford is pumping out affordable electric vehicles faster than most other manufacturers.

New models like the Mustang Mach-E, the F-150 Lightning, the Ford Bronco (even though that’s not electric), and other new innovations are impressing lots of eyes in the industry.

Is this Ford trying to up their game or should we be concerned they are moving a little too fast?

I have always been a fan of Ford. Being born in Detroit, Michigan, Ford is where many of my family members are or were previously employed.

I of course also love Ford’s vehicles. The Mustang, F-150, Bronco, Ranger, Explorer, Thunderbird, are all vehicles that I would love to drive.

However, I know Ford is not the best or the most well-liked car manufacturer, and its stock price over the past decade has reflected that.

But now, after 7 straight years of decline, the stock is finally appearing bullish.

Currently, on the date of 6/13/21, Ford Motor Company’s stock price is at the price of $15.28. The last time ford was above $15 was in early 2015. After reaching a devastating low of $4.23 in March 2020 the stock has almost tripled its value in a little over a year.

This is big news!

Here are a few examples of what Ford is doing to take over the market.

The Ford Bronco

The remake of the iconic Ford Bronco launched in 2020 last year and includes multiple trim packages as well as a more conservative family version, the Bronco sport. The Bronco sport has already hit the streets and is being delivered to early reservations. The Bronco (not the sport) still hasn’t been released to the public just yet but is expected to hit showrooms of dealerships near early 2022. Reservations for the Bronco have exceeded 230,000 according to autoblog.com.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E:

The Mustang Mach-E is Ford’s main electric car competitor. Redesigning the classic Mustang, Ford decided to go all-in with this model and make the classic car a new all-electric SUV.

This vehicle is currently on the market and has already sold over 4,000 units to its early reservations, according to slashgear.com.

The F-150 Lightning:

The F-150 Lightning was recently announced on May 19th of 2021. This all-new electric truck is getting a lot of hype and is definitely going to be a major player in the EV space. Starting at $39,974.00 the vehicle already has 44,500 reservations and production doesn’t even begin until 2022 according to slashgear.com.

The Ford Maverick:

This all-new small, compact pickup truck is Ford’s new take on an affordable truck. Starting at an insane $19,995 Ford’s goal with this truck is to reach an audience that didn’t know they needed or wanted a truck.

The pickup truck was announced very recently on June 8th, 2021, and is expected to start production in 2022. Oh, and this Truck is a gas-electric hybrid.

Ford is making some pretty big moves into this new generation of motor vehicles. I am baffled by how quickly Ford is releasing all of this new innovation, and so are many other automobile enthusiasts.

I do believe this is a turning point for Ford and I hope that these new projects set this very non-volatile stock on a lasting upward trend. However, due to Ford’s history, it is easy to be skeptical of the stock.

The idea that they are pumping these vehicles out too quickly is very reasonable. Quality always takes time and money, and I’m wondering if they are spreading their resources too thin to make a quality vehicle.

As I said before, though, I am a fan of Ford and I want to think they are innovating vehicles that are as great as they say they are.

Even though I am skeptical, I will be monitoring Ford stock and I might even purchase a few shares in the near future. The Motor Vehicle market is changing quickly, and I applaud Ford’s adaptability, and determination to be a more successful company.
