During Covid-19 new entertainment sources have found massive success. Apps like Tik Tok, Quibi, Disney+, twitch, and all sorts of other streaming platforms. However, one that stands out from them all is Onlyfans.

What is Onlyfans

Onlyfans is an app that allows anyone to create content behind a paywall for their viewers, in other words, creators charge viewers a fixed amount to view their post. Creators can charge anywhere from $5 a month to a whopping $50 a month.

Anyone 18 and older can be a viewer or a creator on Onlyfans, there are no requirements or restrictions to your content. If people find your content entertaining, you will make money, no matter what kind of content it is.

Timothy Stokely the 37-year-old founder of Onlyfans has stated the intention of this app was to allow content creators like musicians or film producers to have a platform and receive money directly from viewers. However, I think we all know he expected a certain type of entertainment to take over the app.

Adult entertainment or sexual content is what draws most people to Onlyfans. Which isn't very surprising. Thousands of models charge viewers for their Onlyfans and show pictures in lingerie or nude. Pornography also occurs but many viewers don’t pay for porn. They pay for a relationship. According to dailymail.co.uk“British glamour model, Dannii Harwood became the first Briton to make £1million from the website since joining in 2019.” Ms. Harwood told the New York Times: ‘You can get porn for free. Guys don’t want to pay for that.’ They want the opportunity to get to know somebody they’ve seen in a magazine or on social media. I’m like their online girlfriend’.

On only fans, you have the ability to personally message creators you're subscribed to. Allowing viewers to get in contact with the people they love watching. Through communication, many fans offer to pay for private sessions or calls with creators. Viewers can literally pay for a relationship with their creators. To some people that is worth a whole lot of money. Imagine If you could pay to have a private zoom call with Beyonce or Donald trump. Obviously those 2 examples are way bigger than most Only Fans creators but it puts in perspective why people are willing to pay so much. During quarantine a lot of people are lonely, so they’re willing to pay for online relationships with beautiful women or whoever they idolize.

To the outside world having an Onlyfans looks pretty degrading and sorrowful but not every creator is selling sex. Many creators sell fitness workouts, entertainment, skill classes, coaching, and other respectable forms of content. Creators have the choice of putting out any type of content, and while adult entertainment is the most popular it doesn’t mean you can’t make money selling other things. Popular Female rapper Rubi Rose known for her attractiveness has reported having made $100,000 on Onlyfans in her first month using the same pictures she has on her Instagram. While I’m sure many people that paid for her subscription are disappointed, Rubi is most definitely having the last laugh. Tricks like this are easy to pull off because with Onlyfans you don’t actually know what the creator is posting until you pay.

Creator Privacy

Onlyfans does a very good job of securing creator privacy. Screenshots with an iOS or Android device reveal a black screen instead of allowing viewers to save the content to their phones. Users can be banned from OnlyFans if you’re caught trying to take recordings or screenshots. Onlyfans I’m sure takes creator privacy very seriously. Distribution of recorded Onlyfans content is Piracy just like recording a movie from your phone at a movie theatre. It is Illegal.

Let's talk cash!

So how much money can you really make from Onlyfans? Onlyfans itself has over 24 million active users and about 500,000 content creators, but it is a lot harder than people make it look. The average amount of money made is about $180 a month. The bottom 90% of creators make up only 27% of the revenue, leaving the top 10% with 73% of the revenue. This app favors favorites. The truth is it’s difficult to get to the top. You are constantly catering to random people over the internet. Anyone can get someone to pay for one month but the hard part is keeping viewers past that first month.

For that top 10% though, With Onlyfans the sky really is the limit. Say you charge $5 a month (the lowest amount)for your content and you have 10,000 viewers. You will be making $50,000 a month! Actually Onlyfans itself takes about 20% of all profits so $40,000 a month. Still, that is more money than most people could ever dream of, and most creators charge more than $5 per month. Really famous Onlyfans creators can make up to 100,000 a month. Typically the ones making that kind of money are women showing X rated content.

So if your looking for a new way to make some easy money go for it. Onlyfans really can change your life, and there is no question it can possibly make you a lot of money. Though this app has a very negative connotation to it, that doesn’t mean you can’t have honest content. However, If you are okay with exposing yourself then power to you. Go and get your bag! At the end of the day, it’s your life so do whatever it takes to enjoy it.
