As most of you know the stock market has been going through many changes since the start of 2021.
The historical rise of GameStop stock has proven to Wall Street and other big Stockbroker corporations that amateur traders can turn the tide of the market. Not only can they turn the tide but they can flip it upside down entirely.
If you haven’t heard what a group of Reddit amateur traders have done to completely screw over large hedge funds shorting GameStop stock, I suggest you watch the news.
This is a turning point in the way Americans should view the stock market. You don’t have to be some crazy financial guru or a college-educated big businessman to make money in the stock market. You simply have to be open to learning and trying the stock market. Because the reality is, the majority controls the stock market no matter if you’re an expert hedge fund manager or a 19-year-old kid in a Reddit group chat.
This realization is a shocking discovery for everyone and will most definitely lead to average people trying to educate themselves in the vast opportunities of investing in the stock market.
This is also very scary news for big corporations and stock brokerages. The reality that a group of kids can cause corporations to lose billions will most likely lead to more restrictions and regulations of the fluctuation of the stock market to prevent anomalies like the GameStop rise from happening. However, these restrictions won’t stop the realization that any group can influence the market and cause chain reactions that can result in a shift in the market.
Right now, very wealthy people are losing millions of dollars from attempting to short GameStop.
It’s hard to feel bad for rich people though, and it’s hard to not see this as a great redistribution of wealth for our country.
We can only hope that this will only lead to more and more everyday hardworking people finally achieving financial freedom and salvation from poverty.
