Welcome to the 20ish club.

It’s a place where you are;
Old enough to choose mature decisions, but young enough to still make mistakes
Old enough to daydream, but young enough to turn those dreams into reality
Old enough to regret, but young enough to keep repeating those same mistakes
Old enough to understand the world, but young enough to still be surprised by it
Old enough to seek stability, but young enough to still crave adventure
Old enough to start a family, but young enough to commit to do it
Old enough to live on your own, but young enough to struggle with buying everything you want.

It’s a strange time, really, full of contrasts and uncertainties.

You are here, attached to your workplace cubicle, trying your best to improve your work performance, while your same-age friend is committing to being a housewife and currently celebrating the second birthday of her second son.

You are thinking about “what to eat tonight,” while your same-age friend is opening a new branch of their business in another city.

You are preparing yourself for work tomorrow, while your same-age friend is partying hard at the club.

On some random night, you just cry from the feeling of living with no purpose, while your same-age friend is studying for their master’s degree.

Your circle gets smaller; most conversations you have are about work and deadlines. You need to schedule time to meet with your friends, and once you meet, you already feel tired and miss your bed at 9 PM.

You get DMs from a man who has so much potential to be your partner, but a little thing about him gives you the ick. So you ignore and keep ignoring until one lonely night you decide to reply, but it’s already too late; he already has a new girlfriend.

You decide to go out tomorrow, but when tomorrow comes, you don’t have an ounce of energy to even get up from your bed.

Welcome to the 20ish, a paradoxical age, an age where you straddle the line between knowing and discovering, between settling and striving. It’s an age where you are both a teacher and a student, an architect of your future and a wanderer in the present.

Welcome to the 20ish, when everyone acts like they have it all together, but if you look close enough, you find that they also have no idea what they are doing.

Welcome to the 20ish, embrace this time, for it is fleeting, yet full of potential. It’s an age when you can learn and grow so much.

Welcome to the 20ish, let’s create memories that will last a lifetime. ^^
