“What if he’s written ‘mine’ on my upper thigh, only in my mind?” — Guilty as Sin? by Taylor Swift

“I keep this longing, somewhere inside myself” —

Should you be leaving this thing behind?

Where a slight affection slowly grains into your heart.

Forming a sand castle that can collapse in a blink of an eye.

Should you stop contemplating the way they act?

A mixed signal, along with the confusion that came along with the expectation?

It is a fragile fantasy, that shatters in a slight touch and pierces your heart.

This damned, buoyant thought.

A glimpse of a dream, of what could or couldn’t.

Should you retain some sense of protection after everything you’ve been through?

It is not your fault, my dear.

Longing for a love that you yearn for.

But if I have to remind you, once more.

With that much of a thought that you hold into,

with your heart outpouring the never-ending affection,

Should you spare some of it for yourself?

You, a loving soul.

A hopeless romantic fool.

You can love them so much, but why not yourself?
