to be loved is to be ….
Back then, I did not grasp what it meant to be loved. I felt unloved. It was not until I started noticing the small, everyday gestures that I began to understand what it means to be truly loved.
To be loved is to be remembered.
It is to have someone who brings home your favorite food because you crossed their mind while shopping. It is to have someone who buys the one food you—once said—love over and over until you can’t eat another bite. It is to have someone who texts you funny memes because it reminds them of you. It is to have someone save a seat for you at a crowded event. It is to have someone make your favorite meal just the way you like it. It is to have someone who saves a portion of their meal because they know you will love it.
These small, everyday gestures are love’s way of saying,
“You matter to me.”
