You don’t belong to the past; I’ll never let you.
It’s agonizing to know, that every time I write about you,
I need to write it in past tense.
Past tense is used to describe something or someone that is no longer in the present
But, please, let me make you an exception.
You don’t belong to the past, I’ll never let you be.
You are actually still here,
silently stay in both our hearts. Memories. (Prayers).
You don’t belong to the past, I’ll never let you be.
Your genius brain,
your benevolent smile,
and your infinite good deeds
have made my sunless life enlivened.
You never knew how your existence mattered to me.
Your grit, and your sparkle eyes as you told me your life updates,
have successfully encouraged me to be the better version of myself.
If only you knew, if only I told you sooner.
The grief is going strong; I wish I had more time with you.
I’m sorry for the hurt I caused you unknowingly.
Thank you for being born and truly live.
You will never belong to the past.
I’ll carry you as I continue my journey here.
During my blue and grey days, you’ll always stay silently, and achingly, in my heart.
Until we meet again.
