My idea of good company is the company of clever, well-informed people who have a great deal of conversation; that is what I call good company.”

Do you ever feel the need for adult conversation? I am not a parent and know some of my friends who have felt this need after being with their young children all day. As much as they enjoy the time with their children, they have stated they would like conversations with adults.

But what about when everyone is an adult and that need is still felt?

Be Brave And Go Beyond The Surface

Somehow, it seems to be about being brave — going beyond the surface.

One way this appears is treating another person like a charity case even when you are supposed to be close friends. I co-wrote a song about this and thought the feeling had gone away. Instead, I think it is appearing more often.

Do I do this to myself?

It makes me wonder if one of my friends visits me because she likes me enough to take the time every once in a while to make the trip. No one else in my family does and she has been close like family for over 30 years.
