To blitzkrieg is to orchestrate an intensive or sudden military attack. To just push forward with reckless abandon. Balls to the wall. But what happens after the blitz?

Conor McGregor figured out how to make it to the top in a short amount of time. Even when he was broke and living on welfare he relied on his passion for MMA and his ruthless training regimen to win his victories in the cage. Outside the cage, he studied psychology and the laws of power to mentally break his opponents down before the fight. He also learned to create a tremendous following using his endless wordplay and brash attitude. He was a cocky son of a bitch but you had to like him. Because he backed up his boasts.

He was the UFC’s first two-division champion. He has his own line of custom-made suits. He has his own media company. He just launched his own brand of Irish whiskey. It’s called Proper Twelve and it has been sold out since it’s launch a few weeks ago. Shit, it has more followers on Instagram than the famous Jameson Irish Whiskey, if that means anything.

It does, in case you were wondering

And he did it all in less than five years.

He deserves all the riches he has made. Every bit of his millions he earned. Not only did he accomplish these things but he told everyone that he would. He talked it and then he walked it. All because of a perfectly executed blitz.

When Chris Jericho was a little boy he said that he wanted to be a professional wrestler and a rock star. He idolized professional wrestlers and dreamed of being the lead singer in a rock band. These were just the dreams in the mind of a little boy in Canada. But he said that he would do this. He told everyone that would listen that he would be a pro wrestling champion and a rock star.

On Dec 9 2001 Chris Jericho beat The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in back to back matches to unify the WWF Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship to become the first Undisputed WWF Champion. He had worked his way to the top of the pro wrestling world and beat the top two stars of pro wrestling on the same night. I know wrestling is scripted entertainment but they don’t just give those titles and accolades away to anybody. Jericho proved that he had the attitude, fan base, and work ethic to be the company’s leading man. At the time of this posting, he is currently the New Japan Professional Wrestling IWGP Intercontinental Champion.

Yes, he is currently a wrestling champion in Japan.

Along with his wrestling accolades, which he is still adding to today since he is still an active wrestler, he is the lead singer of the rock group Fozzy. Their last album Judas was released on October 13, 2017. Since the release of Judas Fozzy has put out three singles from that album. All three have been in Billboards Top 20 Rock Singles.

I think it’s safe to call Chris Jericho a rock star.

He actually just orchestrated his own cruise vacation. It was called “Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea”.

He brought in wrestlers and rock bands from around the globe, put them on a cruise ship and opened it up to the public! Four days of rock ‘n roll and wrestling on a cruise ship in the Bahamas. And it sold out. Quickly!
Also he is a best selling author

Shit, I forgot to mention that. He wrote 4 books as well.

And he is still going.

Now I can give thousands more examples of people who have inspired me. But these two stand out to me the most. McGregor, because I discovered him when I found out I was going to be a father and his attitude has helped me to reach higher in my life and Jericho because I have been a huge fan of his since I was a kid (still am).

But what these men have done is they hit the ground running. Hard. Nonstop action.

After months and months of mental and emotional searching, I’ve decided I’m going to begin to phase out many things in my life that don’t bring me the meaning and ambition that I seek. I want to write. I always have wanted to but I have finally started. I began writing short stories again about two months ago. I haven't written a short story in over 7 years but two months ago I decided to hop back on the horse.

And boy oh boy, I missed riding that horse

I’ve already been in contact with people connected in the fiction editing and publishing world. I have a few stories that have been through the beta editing phase and I’m getting a lot of positive feedback.

It’s time for my blitzkrieg.

It’s time for my intensive and sudden military-style attack on the literary world.

Because I want what will come after my blitz.

I want to rely on my love of writing down words to shape my life and live it the way I want to.

And I’m swinging at non-fiction too. I’ve already written press releases and website posts for local salsa and beef jerky companies.

As Scarface once said; “I want what’s coming to me. The world, chico, and everything in it.”

What are you blitzing for?
