Don’t Do Something You Hate For a Living

The Cost is Too Great — Regardless of What You’re Paid For it

When I was seventeen, I labored for a masonry restoration company. I stood 5'5 tall and weighed maybe 115 pounds — and the job started in the heat of summer. I wish there was video footage, of the first time they handed me a 45 pound jack hammer and told me to bust a wall out. While it wasn’t pretty, I did get the job done. I’d come home so tired at the end of the day, I had energy for little else.
