This article doesn’t necessarily apply to everyone reading it. It’s not one that universally applies to all, but instead, one that could benefit some immensely.

Only you really know if it applies to you, or can decide to get honest enough with yourself to admit it does. I don’t need you to tell me it does, but if it does indeed apply, you need to do yourself the favor of continuing to read on — and then make the necessary suggested and implied changes in your life.

I know about self-sabotage because I practically mastered the destructive and unpretty art of it between ages twelve and twenty-seven. For the better part of fifteen years I couldn’t — or just wouldn’t — get the fuck out of my own way.

What was waiting on the other side of the roadblocks and booby traps I set for myself through self-destructive and sabotaging behaviors and habits was everything I told myself I wanted — but refused to believe I could acquire, achieve and obtain.

Nobody is going to help you in the way you can help yourself and when you aren’t even willing to help yourself…
