Why Our Words and Work Matters
Most of the time, anyways.
Admittedly, I have a gross quarterly-ish habit of reading my own work. Not even with the intent of editing, revising, revamping or repurposing it. I just like good writing, and it turns out I’m capable of producing precisely that, on my good days.
I say so not to brag, but quite the opposite. I write good on my good days and bad days too, because I’ve put the work in. I’ve exercised my creative muscles, at times to the point of exhaustion. I’ve done the post on Medium every day for a year shuffle, and it paid off in more ways than even I realize or can consciously acknowledge.
It brought abundance of all sorts into my life, and is in part what helped carve me into writer I am today, whoever that is--which I can’t say cemently being at the end of the day its each one of you who ultimately decides that individually.
My goal when I sit down to write in any form, is merely the work itself. Which is a longwinded way of saying, my only goal when I write, is to write. I have no plans on going viral and besides anyone who knows anything knows anybody who ever planned on going viral never did,outside of say maybe Kanye. I just do work. For the sake of the words and the work itself. I’m currently doing my best not to subconsciously steal out of Stephen Kings wonderfully crafted “On…
