I am working on a full-length novel closely based on my own life story. I will be uploading short previews, one to two pages in length, about once or twice a month until the novel is completely finished. These previews will be drafts and don’t follow on in order. One could read the drafts in any order. Please bear in mind that the completed book version of these pages may look a lot different. …
I’ve been a self-help junkie ever since I read ‘You Can Work Your Own Miracles’ by Napoleon Hill when I was around 10 years old. I can’t remember much of that book, but I do remember at some point a guy got his deaf son to start hearing again through the power of his mind. At least that’s what the author claimed. And I was hooked.
The feeling that anything is possible if you just apply your mind to it is intoxicating. It’s almost impossible not to get swept up in the reality distortion field of a ‘can-do’ person who can tell a good story. And drives supercars. …
You’ve messed up. You’ve failed. And long after the dust has settled, you still replay that incident in your head.
“I shouldn’t have done that. It was my fault. I wish I knew better. I wish I could go back and relive that moment one more time. I would have done differently. Why did I do that? What was I thinking?”
What if I tell you that it’s okay?
What if I tell you it’s not the end?
What if I tell you that you’re allowed to make mistakes and you have the permission to mess things up?
Making mistakes and dealing with them can be debilitating. It’s incredibly hard having to cope with the internal negative self-talk. You chastise yourself for not being more of something else. It’s like you’ve stepped into the quicksand that pulls you right under. The more you struggle, the deeper you sink into despair and frustration. …
Are the problems facing the EU
Northern Italy would be happy to leave the South.
But the actions by Spain against the Catalans has discouraged them.
Change is still rumbling along.
But the other two countries facing the same problem are Germany with Bavaria
and France with Normandy.
Both these countries have hard right parties gaining votes, people are upset with the immigrants and the problems they are causing.
European Council sets the EU’s priorities, made up of national and EU leaders. Most people know the president, but not the others.
Presidency of the Council and since 2007. The Presidency is coordinated every 18 months by three countries (a “triplet”). …
These clothes don’t fit like they used to,
looking in the mirror and I’m not sure I like the view,
gray hairs scatter across my head,
on most days, I can barely get out of bed.
I feel like I’ve aged a decade over the past year,
Sometimes, I can’t figure out why I’m still here,
the long nights turn into early mornings,
and there are never any warnings.
Still, I continue to walk on,
because life is a marathon,
I‘m not the man I once was,
that’s because I’m now living for a bigger cause.
I say goodbye to my selfish ways,
and say hello to brighter days,
now, it’s all about taking care of my family,
because my life no longer revolves around just me. …
Many things hit me. Can only exercise once a day. Shop at Supermarkets, since others closed, so ques have now gone with people are more relaxed. Our second total lock down. All restaurants, cafes, and pubs closed and no carryout’s. Bought the following items to save money and time and because most shops are closed.
Cost under $10.00. Very easy to use, but the spike on the water measuring cup is not strong enough for some eggs. So used a skewer from the Halogen Oven Air Fryer. Even done Duck Eggs, which make a good change.
Cost about $20.00. Can Opener the main reason for making the purchase. To open cans of beans, fruit and soup. Expands what I can buy for a change. Bottle Top Opener works with bottles. Knife Sharpener is only used once a year or when needed, saves £5.00 …
