As a Junior and Ole Miss Feature Twirler, Haley Shiver, 21, dedicates her life to performing at university sporting events and competitions around the world.
On game days or competitions, students and faculty can see Haley walking around campus in one of the multiple twirling uniforms that she owns. Shiver has been photographed, filmed, and even interviewed by College Game Day.
Not only a performer, but an athlete as well, Shiver dedicates anywhere from ten to twelve hours a week training at the Turner Center on campus. Weight training, running, and especially choreographing her routines are essential to her success as a competitor.
As a seven time national champion, Haley is a well-known competitor in the twirling community. With acrobatic tricks such as aerials, illusions, and laybacks (seen above) in her routines, it’s clear why Shiver is a fierce competitor and a decorated feature twirler.
With her senior year approaching, Shiver looks forward to her last year as both a student and an Ole Miss twirler. Leaving behind a legacy as one of the only twirlers to be featured as a freshman, as well as every other year, Shiver hopes to inspire others and one day teach the sport herself.
