Open house 2016 at Camp Lake Stephens, a Methodist summer camp in Oxford.

Shelby Bickes, an Ole Miss freshman and counselor at the camp volunteers her time whenever she can.
Open house is a day for prospective campers and family to come and check out the sights of camp before fully committing to the summer.
With over 147 acres of land, there is many a trail to go down and many a walking stick to be found.
The inside of the cabins are small but cozy, with a bathroom connecting two rooms.
Hanging above the entrance to the chapel is the camp’s motto.
The zip line over the lake is a busy place during the summer time. With a length of 400 ft. long and 50 ft. high, you are moving when you splash into the water.
The cook for the camp is Karen Irby, who has been in the food service business for over twenty years. Her pizza has garnered fame with campers and counselors alike.
Darrell Whitaker has been the Executive Director since 2003. He has a long history with camp, and even met his wife there. He and his family live on the grounds.
Sally McLellan has been the office manager for 3 years after coming to the camp from Montana.
The bus sees many miles and many road trips. The back door has been known to swing open at highway speed and the air conditioner could use a refresh, but campers get to and fro safely.
Vesper Hill is where outdoor services are held.
Brandon Gooch, Grounds Director, and wife Candace live at the camp as well.

Jeff Wilson will be the Adventure Camp Director in 2016. Each Wednesday, the group takes a trip to go on a different outdoor excursion . In 2015, they went backpacking rock climbing sea kayaking, and white water rafting.
The staff is expecting 2016 summer to be one of the best yet, everyone is excited to see what it will hold.
