Journalism was the development of the gathering and transmitting of news spans the growth of technology and trademarked by the advent of specialized techniques for gathering information.

Journalism has many new ways of releasing the scope of news that is available to us. For example, newspapers, social media, photographics, captions, and many more. Before the printing press was invented, journalism had to use to their mouth and knowledge as a source of news.

News was sent back to the mainland by merchants, sailors and after was spread from town to town. Newspapers have always been the primary medium of journalists since the 18th century, radio and television in the 20th century and the internet in the 21st century.

According to research, the concept of journalism as politically neutral nonpartisan, professional even “objective”, did not emerge until the twentieth century (McChesney p58). The widespread commercialization of media is often seen as a threat to the democratic society since it may result in profit-making becoming more important than journalistic quality. There is a relationship between good public service journalism and what is called commercialization at various levels. There is a focus on daily press, which is a media type that contrast to broadcast media which always has been commercial in nature.

Business journalism began early as the Middle Ages, to help known trading families communicate amongst each other. Daniel Defoe around the 1700s, he was known for his famous novels. For example, his novel Robinson Crusoe began publishing business and economic news. Charles Dow and Edward Jones began a wire service that delivers news to investment houses along Wall Street. In 1889, The Wall Street Journal was being published.

Business coverage gained prominence in the 190s, with wider investment in the stock market. The Wall Street Journal is one prominent example of business journalism, and is among the United States of America’s top newspapers in terms of both circulation and respect for the journalist whose work showed. Journalism will continue to exist in the future year. Subscriptions help a lot in the business world because of journalism.

Newspapers such as the New York Times and The Information, people are subscription to monthly memberships to catch up on news at any given time without leaving their homes.

I do believe journalism can go super far without the commercial or business aspect but also both together do come hand and hand because it brings both more money and audience.
