Propaganda which is information, ideas, or rumors spread widely to help or harm a person, group, and movement is a big part of media.

It is part of everyday media where many news sites might exaggerate a topic or twist the story to make it more interesting or to display a certain point. For example, in social media or on the Internet there are many propaganda articles that are trying their best to grab an audience and impact them.

Back in 2018 Facebook removed 13 pages and 10 accounts that were being used to spread military propaganda in Myanmar. Facebook and many other social networks are suffering from where misinformation is being shared on their pages and that leads to the labeling of fake news where the public discredits the media by giving them that label.

Another example in the media of propaganda that is very common is political signs and commercials, the commercials of certain brands or celebrity figures, etc.

Propaganda has become a big part of the media and has been around for a while. The principles of propaganda were created back in 1928 by Edward Bernays.

Bernays who is referred to as “the father of public relations believed that public relations was a necessity and used propaganda to sell products during peacetime meanwhile at war propaganda played a huge part.

Propaganda is now fully associated with media where there are many advertisements and companies being shown. These advertisements and companies pay money to media outlets who can then present them and expose them to more people and various audiences. Propaganda is now a big part of media.
