I believe that technology like Al Bots will be good for the future of media because the machine will be able to spot fake news.

In the AP report “Machine Learning” Quartz journalist Sarah Slobin in January 2017 gave a perfect example of how a machine could analyze something. It said that Columbia University data scientist Amir Imani used a machine in January 2017 to report on Donald Trump’s inaugural speech. The machine was analyzing his facial expressions and his emotions throughout his speech. I believe that a machine can also do the same thing when it comes to spotting fake news. We talk a lot about how some journalists are biased and there isn’t any objectivity. Like where did they get their sources from? Well with technology I believe it can give accurate information once a data team teaches it’s system.

Technology is taking over the world as we speak and I think it will be good for journalism. We won’t have to determine whether or not the news that we are receiving is real or fake. The point of all of this is to make sure that our news is accurate and that’s what technology does. We wouldn’t have to worry about false information anymore. It can analyze fake news and be almost 100 percent right all the time. Al Bots can add a different perspective to a story which I think is very unique.

Not everyone is going to like the idea of having a robot determine fake news but, I believe that they will all get use to it. Times are changing and technology is taking over. Some journalists wouldn’t have to report fake news , a robot will determine all of that. I believe that when it comes to journalism the audience wants honest reporting. It will be programmed in a way that it can get enough or more information than a human being can get. Also it can determine if information is unusual or not. I think it will be an excellent idea for journalism. With the ways things are going, I think many years from now we will get our news from robots.
