Social media is apart of human beings everyday life but it looks like there are other people finding the interest of social media.

Bots help to propagate fake news as well as inflate the apparent popularity of fake news on social media. We all know social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram have become a home to millions of social bots that spread fake news. We tend to sometimes believe the fake news but no one is called out on about the news. According to from research in 2017, there were 23 million bots on Twitter and 140 million bots on Facebook and around 27 million bots on Instagram.

Bots reside on social media platforms, which is created by someone with computer programming hacking skills. It’s comprised of nothing but codes that is, lines of computer instructions. Bots are algorithms that are sets of logic steps to complete a specific task that works in online social networks sites to execute tasks autonomously and repetitively. It’s used to simulate the behavior of human beings in a social network. It can share information and messages because the algorithms behind bots are logic, bots can learn from response patterns or input values how to respond to certain situations according to research.

I do believe technology has changed and will continue to change our future. There is nothing in our society that is done without technology. Bots are becoming smarter than the majority of us because of their artificial skills and intelligence. We have machine learning, which is a method of data analysis that automates analytical model building. It is a branch of artificial intelligence based on the idea that system can learn from data and identify patterns and makes decisions with minimal humans intervention but of course in order for this to work we need to teach the machine to work correctly.

Amir Imani, Columbia University data scientist explains “When children are growing up and learning how to perceive and understand their parents’ facial expressions, they do so by constantly being exposed to them — seeing their faces and recognizing their tone.”

This statement is accurate because once we train these machines to work correctly, it will become easier to cast out fake news. Imani used the machine learning in January 2017 to augment traditional reporting on the nature of President Donald Trump’s inaugural speech, it was analyzing his facial expressions and determining the emotions expressed throughout his acceptance and inauguration speeches.

Her algorithm was trained to identify micro expressions. The machine systems need to be able to accurately detect a face and then landmark multiple points on each face.

In my opinion, I find these methods to be scary because our society and social platform is controlled completely by technology and its methods. We are being controlled by robots. We all watched Star Wars and I Robot where these robots were being cloned and becoming the most powerful and smartest tool on earth. They were taking over the world and defeating us.
