… Because travelers really need real-time information while they are on their trips.

The travel industry has changed dramatically over the last 10 years, and with it, the way we travel.

If you like to travel to cities at least twice a year, you already have your favorite apps and travel blogs, right? You even know where you can find the best airline tickets deals and the best travel guides to carry during the trip. But what about staying informed while you are traveling? And I don’t mean reading the newspapers or travel magazines during your trip. Where can you find news about what’s going on in the city you are visiting, about what events and concerts will be taking place, about the new places you must visit in town?

And then, the weather… What will it be like tomorrow? Do you know where to go in case of a rainy day situation without feeling you are losing precious time? I don’t blame you, because travelers don’t have many options.

That’s why we created Krono.me, a weather daily planner for travelers where you can organize your trip based on a personalized weather forecast (made by our meteorologist) + curated suggestions of things to do. We are starting in New York City with only one idea in mind: to bring you, urban travelers, a service. We understand that the weather is an important issue while you are on your trip and that optimize your time is something you really care about. And that is our value. We have a weather forecaster there, available for you + strategic information you need to know about the places you’re going to visit.

You can find us at krono.me

Enzo Campetella, our very own weather forecaster, with more than 25 years of experience in the field, will be providing you with a daily personalized weather forecast. And why is this also important? Because Krono.me is a place where the weather forecast is from a real meteorologist helping you. And that is very different from the typical forecasts you can find in your smartphone apps; this one, instead, has accurate human intervention.

The information will be curated by me, a journalist and entrepreneur, now a Fellow at the Tow-Knight Entrepreneurial Journalism Program at CUNY, who has been working with travelers for the last nine years in Patagonia, Argentina.

And the information will also be special. Why? Because I’ll not only suggest to you the typical places you have to visit in the city, but I’ll also include the varied and unusual activities you can explore in NYC to enjoy an authentic trip, with that indie approach you’re looking for.

Last but not least, please let me tell you that we are listening to you, and your ideas will be the essence of our community. We discovered through our research that some travelers feel overwhelmed by all the activities and things-to-do in NYC. They feel disappointed about not having enough time, and the weather is not behaving for them. For that reason they share their own private Google maps with their friends, with valuable information like route suggestions and their favorite places to visit in the city.

You can follow us at @hikronome

That’s why the information you share with us, as a community, will also be an important part of Krono:

- Do you have a favourite route, full of nice places to explore in New York? Share it at info@krono.me with us! We’ll publish it, share it with our readers, and let you meet other travelers on the road.
