India bled blue, quite literally. We witnessed a cricket heartbreak yesterday. Despite the team’s relentless efforts over the years to bring home the trophy, India lost the World Cup Finals. To be honest, it really isn’t just about the victory or defeat as much as you must be anticipating. In fact, it’s hard to put words to a sport which is an emotion for billions and let me explain to you how.
The magic of cricket lies in its power to unite a diverse nation, a phenomenon unchanged even after India’s World Cup victories in 1983 and 2011. I am no cricket fan, yet I feel the electrifying energy reverberating through the walls of my home on a match day- it’s magical and contagious.
