A Fresh Look for a Farm Brewery

Branding and visual identity for Pro Re Nata Brewery

As the first farm brewery in Virginia, Pro Re Nata needed a brand identity that communicated its unique spirit. Journey Group was invited to design the brewery’s first brand expression.

The work at hand

The brewery owner is a doctor, and the name of the brewery refers to the Latin phrase written on prescriptions (meaning “as needed”).

With a nod to the brewery’s roots in medical lingo, the Pro Re Nata logo offers a modern, enticing visual introduction to the brewery.

The Journey Group team collaborated with illustrator Simon Walker on the logo, which replicates itself on a wide variety of materials, including bottles, glasses, signage, stationery and tap handles.
