With the issuance of the 2018 Sally Ride stamp, the U.S. Postal Service challenged Journey Group to create a collectible product to appeal to stamp collectors and the general public.

Pushing the boundaries

The Journey Group team was not content to create a standard collectible folio: Instead, the print studio devised a comprehensive, educational kit, which would be fashioned like a galactic passport, containing other stamps from the archives that commemorated milestones in space exploration.

The kit, titled Postal Passport to the Galaxy, also came with five custom-designed mission patches, inspired by the patches of NASA astronauts.

Journey Group produced the full-color embroidered patches with the designs of illustrator Trey Ingram.
