The thankless human spirit

Where did we falter? What happened?

Once all was for grace. Our art, our rituals.

We danced and sang for grace.

We painted our caves for grace.

Where did we falter? What happened?

We prayed for rains and were grateful

For the great hunt that upheld our tribes.

Did the comforts ruin our faith?

What happened to us? We held things sacred.

The rivers and oceans were sacred for us.

The grains and the meat were sacred.

Where did we lose our Gratitude? Our Gods?

What happened to our wonder? Our faith?

Did the control ruin us? Did surety ruin us?

We held everything in wonder. The stars…

Now, we don’t even care to look up.

What happened to us? Why did we turn

So thankless for what was provided to us?

We say we conquered the nature….

Did we really conquer anything?

Our material lives have gotten better

Of our spirits. We no longer journey in spirit.

We are but a killed race with no spirit at all.

Who cares to wonder now? We are stuck so!

What happened to our early music

And our earliest Shamans? Who healed us?

What happened to our early meditation

That we performed in sure danger…

I refuse to kill the human in me.

The humanity in me is still alive.

I care for the spirit passed on over time.

Thank You my ancestors! I bow to thee!
