(Korean drama) 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌠 3.5/5

This is the story of the journey taken by a young, budding and aspiring model and actor.

Sa Hye Jun is an upcoming model who wants to foray into acting as well. His humble background prevents him from getting any monetary support from his parents, but also keeps him grounded. Unfortunately, everyone, except his grandfather, discourage him from getting into the acting field because of the instability in the profession. Through grit and hard work, he finally gets a break and makes it big as an actor. Won Hae Hyo is one of his best childhood friends, and also an aspiring model and actor. He helps Sa Hye Jun in getting assignments and opportunities for modelling gigs, and also gives him moral support. Kim Jin Woo is another best childhood friend of Sa Hye Jun, works as an assistant to a photographer, and wants to make it big as a professional photographer. Ahn Jeong Ha is an upcoming and talented make-up artist who has big dreams, and is a huge fan of Sa Hye Jun even from his initial modelling days. The story is about how these various characters are intertwined with each other, and how they find their own successes.

Park Bo Gum (Sa Hye Jun) has done a good job, as usual, but this is probably not one of his best works. Byeon Woo Seok (Won Hae Hyo) has done a commendable job and shines in this drama. Kwon Soo Hyun (Kim Jin Woo) is cute and has done full justice to his role. Park So Dam (Ahn Jeong Ha) was a huge disappointment and brought down the quality of the drama. Additionally, her chemistry with Park Bo Gum was zero, zilch, which added to the poor performance. I was particularly impressed with Lee Chang Hoon’s (Lee Tae Su) performance as the manager without a conscience. The rest of the actors have done a good job.

The story itself is nothing much to talk about. It has no particular beginning or end, and is just a representation of the strife, struggles and pressures faced by young men and women, especially actors, who are ready to work hard and succeed at their careers. I was fascinated by the behind-the-scenes story of the various situations, betrayals, oppositions and stumbling blocks that upcoming actors have to face in their personal and professional lives. The direction is good, the script is a bit bland, but the screenplay is interesting. A few famous actors have given cameo appearances in this drama, and it adds to its star power. I’m a huge fan of Park Seo Joon, and I was thrilled to see him.

You should watch this drama if you’re a fan of any of the actors, because it has a huge star cast.

Love writing. I like to understand the psyche of people I meet, even more than their life story.
