Journey off Shaw butte

Summer days in the southwest are the best. Trails are so accessible but yet can be boring. We spent a Sunday trying to find a new trail out in the North Mountain preserve.

Shaw Butte is located on the opposite side of the peserve. The hike is moderate so it’s great to take your kids, or out of towners for a fun summer day activity. This trail is also dog friendly so make sure to bring your fur babies.

Park center is located at 10600 N. 7th St.

Direction: From East bound of Thunderbird street turn to central street, AckDrive central for about a mile until reach designated trail parking on right side of street.
