On a beautiful Sunday morning, a couple friends and I thought it’d be a good day to hike. We wanted something not too far away with great views and no fees/permits involved. We agreed on Wave Cave, located right behind Superstition mountain. On top of the mountain, the cave and the views are breathtaking. Definitely a hike everyone should have on their list if you’re a local or visiting the greater Phoenix area. I’ll be going into detail on how to get to the Wave Cave and insert some pictures for reference.

Directions

Weather you’re taking AZ-51 South or Loop 101 East, find your way to US 60 East Superstition Fwy toward Globe. You’ll be driving on US 60 for another 50 miles until E Peralta Rd. You’ll be taking a left on Peralta and driving 7 miles until you reach the parking spot for Wave Cave. It’ll be on the left hand side

Hike

<- Remember to keep left <-

The first mile of the hike is pretty much flat and will lead you to an open gate. Make sure to go through the gate and keep on the left-hand side of the trail. It’s very important not to get off the trail as you can easily get lost.

Tips

Always make sure to wear proper clothing and take tons of water especially during the hot summer months.

Good friends take good pics for you lol

Also take a friend with you that you can count on taking some great pictures. We all have that one friend who seems to know how to handle the camera. Everyone seems to come to here for the iconic photos on the wave! What a perfect way to
