The Creation of the Pattern for iPad Sleeve
Teaching myself to create patterns
It’s a fantastic project for newbies, perfect for gifting. It ensures your safety during travel. Measure the length of your iPad or tablet, add seam allowance, and then trace it. Coasters help keep my pattern paper in place. I used whatever I had in my fabric stash.
The Steps for the project
Gather your materials: interfacing, one yard of fabric (or use scraps), and buttons. I used a tablecloth and two sheets in different colors. You’ll need three pieces of fabric: one for the front, one for the back, and one for the iPad pocket. Use one yard of fabric, or choose assorted colors from a jelly roll or quarter bundle.
Following the measurements and cuts for your iPad/tablet, interface, and press the pocket and backing. Next, press and hem the pocket. Stitch the three pieces together, leaving an opening of 2 inches for turning.
